I remember my trip two years ago, to San Francisco. I took a cab to this bridge while my sister was on a conference call.
I stood there for about two hours, looking down, people watching, and wondering how far down the water was.
A girl sat next to me, and asked me, “You’re not going to jump„ are you?”
I smiled and reassured her I wasn’t. That I was just a tourist.
She then said, “You look a lot like my sister. I’m sorry, I don’t mean to make you uncomfortable. But I had to ask, can I hug you? You just look so much like her.”
I felt awkward at first, but then I realized. “She jumped?”
This girl’s face just crumpled, and she started crying. I hugged her, without a second thought, and for some reason I apologized. Not sure what else I could say.
She goes, “Those were the last words she ever spoke to me.”
And I will never forget this girl, her name was Ariana.

Honestly,
I’m sick and tired of people who lie and people who are flaky. I’m sorry, but Sarah, we’ve been best friends for four years. I know we’re growing apart, it’s fucking obvious. Turning into a flake though? That’s new. I’ve been through so much shit with you. And when we made solid plans for the first time in ages to hang out, the next day, the day we were supposed to see each other, you cancel simply with the fact that you just made other plans.
Uhm, no bitch. I thought someone like me was a lot more important to you. I’ve had people like Kathy and Hersha tell me that you’re afraid you’re losing me. That you’re losing this friendship. Well you know what? Doing shit like that is going to make you lose me. I have free time, we both know it. We made SOLID plans. You can’t just do shit like that.
One more thing, Katie. I thought we were friends too. Not super close friends, but close enough. We smoked together, we knew some shit that others didn’t know, or would ever get the grace of knowing, but not best friends. So Thursday night you invite me over, then cancel not even 20 minutes later. The excuse is reasonable, I take it. We make plans for the next day. Friday…oh lord. Okay. I may have gone a little overboard trying to get a hold of you, but I was still recovering from Tuesday with Sarah.
So, we’re supposed to hang out on Friday. While I’m waiting to meet you, I run into Sidney and Erin. Well guess who was at your house the previous night? I fucking hate when people lie to me. If you didn’t want me there, lol, then don’t even fucking invite me. What the fuck? Oh and that’s not the worst part. You didn’t even show up to hang out with me. Sweet.
Honestly, I thought Sarah and Katie were two people who were better than that.
